Crystal System.

Crystals formation is reflected by regular molecules arrangement inside of Minerals, which is called Crystal System. We can group all Minerals into 7 types.
  1. Cubic, e.g. Diamond, Pyrite
  2. Tetragonal, e.g. Cassiterite
  3. Orthorhombic, e.g. Olivine
  4. Monoclinic, e.g. Selenite
  5. Triclinic, e.g. Amazonite
  6. Hexagonal, e.g. Beryl
  7. Trigonal, e.g. Calcite

Natural Crystals & Gemstones Hardness.

We can measured minerals hardness by trying to scratch it with other minerals or objects of known hardness.

The scale of hardness known as Mohs Scale was established in 1822 by the mineralogist Friedrich Mohs. Minerals with higher Mohs numbers will scratch those lower on the scale.

  10. Diamond, Diamond (only Diamond can scratch Diamond)

Color: Light Green

Peridot is also called "happy stone" for some people, which their believed Peridot can bring happiness in ones life.

Peridot is believed it can heal problems to do with kidneys and liver.

Garnet Properties:

Crystal System: Cubic
Hardness: 7-7.5 (Mohs Scale)
Color: Deep Red/Maroon

The name of Garnet may come from the Latin word - granatum which mean pomegranate as the Garnet has deep red color same as pomegranate.

Garnet is believed it can strengthen up self confidence and blood system.
